Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about how the platform works.
CLT Food Truck Events is a two-sided marketplace that connects food trucks and caterers with venues across Charlotte, NC. Venues post available openings, and food trucks apply to book those spots. We handle the booking, communication, and payment — making it easy for both sides to connect and do business.
Venues create openings for dates and times they want a food truck on-site. Food trucks browse available openings and apply to the ones that fit their schedule. The venue reviews applications and approves or denies them. Once approved, the food truck pays a $15 booking fee to confirm the spot for standard 1–2 truck bookings. That's it — you're booked!
For standard 1–2 truck bookings, venues use the platform free and food trucks pay a flat $15 booking fee per confirmed booking. For food truck events (3+ trucks), a marketing fee starting at $50 applies to venues upon admin approval — the exact amount depends on event size and location. You will always be notified and must confirm before being charged. Food trucks pay a fee per event that varies based on event size and crowd reach — the exact amount is shown on the event page before you apply, so you always know what you're committing to. There are no monthly subscriptions, hidden fees, or commissions on your sales.
A Food Truck Event is an opening with 3 or more confirmed trucks. Standard bookings (1–2 trucks) go live immediately and food trucks pay a flat $15 fee per confirmed booking. Food truck events require admin approval and include full marketing across cltfoodtruckevents.com, CLTBucketlist, and our partner network. The marketing fee starts at $50 and may be adjusted based on event size and location — you will always be notified and must confirm the final fee before being charged.
An Urgent Fill Opening means the venue needs a food truck on short notice — usually because of a last-minute cancellation or a newly added event. These openings are highlighted in red on the search page so you can spot them quickly. They're a great opportunity to pick up extra bookings.
When a venue marks an opening as Auto-Approve, any food truck that applies is instantly approved without waiting for the venue to review the application. You'll still need to pay the booking fee to confirm — the amount shown on the listing — but there's no waiting period.
The Verified badge appears next to your business name once you've uploaded a valid Certificate of Insurance (COI). It signals to venues that you're insured and ready to operate. You must have a COI on file to apply for any openings.
